EXCELLENT Based on 441 reviews Jessica Williams2025-04-23Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What a wicked little campground! Nice and clean toilets and showers. Few little walks and glow worms to explore at night! Juan Ignacio Llopis2025-04-22Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This is by far the best place to stay in the west coast of New Zealand. Amazing hosts/ managers, comfy clean and cozy facilities, beautiful surroundings with greats walks to see glow worms and hear kiwis! We are definitely coming back. Overall a lovely place to stay and would stay again - very cozy, clean, quiet, and glow worms right on site! Natalie Williams2025-04-18Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I stayed here in April 2024 and again in April 2025. The new owners have done an amazing job with upgrading the retreat in less than a year. New services, new cabins, larger campsites, and clean, well-kept bathroom facilities. The lounge/dining area is warm and cozy with a lit fireplace, and the kitchen includes all utensils and cutlery. The main glowworm location is absolutely stunning and worth seeing. Large playground for kids to play. The only negative is a lack of native wildlife due to roaming cats. Other than that, it's an amazing place. I personally will continue to visit every year. The sites were great and kitchen and bathroom facilities were exceptional! There are even a few sites for sighting glow worms and this was just out of this world (complimentary as well see some pics attached!) We cannot recommend this place enough for your next road trip around NZ! They had a great looking play ground for the kids and even a gym! Thank you for your wonderful hospitality!
